Moving on up...

Well as I mentioned before, we have relocated. Dr. T. Hasan Johnson accepted a tenure-track position in the Africana and American Indian Studies Department at Fresno State University. RaKhem and I are so proud and excited for him because after all of his hard work, he is finally doing what it is he was meant to do...teach!!! We decided to look for houses about a month before we were to move and we just so happened to visit Fresno during the hottest day of the summer (so far). It was 115 degrees that weekend...almost had us rethinking our decision to move:) After visiting 30+ houses in two days, we put in our apps for our top choices and actually got one of our top picks: a nice 3 bedroom/two bathroom home in a cul-de-sac situated in a nice neighborhood full of young families (about 8 miles from Fresno State). So now we are here unpacking and getting acclimated to the area (I'll have some pictures for y'all soon). RaKhem is slowly coming to grips that we have in deed moved to Fresno and he will not be seeing his friends J.J. and Nicolas on a regular basis anymore. He loves his new room and he really enjoys running up and down the hallway. Hasan is getting settled in his new digs at Fresno State and has already begun teaching classes. Pretty soon we will be sending you all an Evite for a get-together, so be on the lookout! Until next time...
